ProAct has worked in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) market for many years dealing with the specific requirements relating to fashion and perishables. Our early work was predominantly within the context of warehousing and transportation but our focus in recent years has been that of global order management. ie the ability to plan, manage and execute supply chains emanating in the so called 'low cost countries'. The basis for this is the ability to manage seamlessly the whole order process from purchase order -> shipment order -> allocation order -> delivery order.  Ultimately the goal of this macro management is to facilitate the calculation and control of landed cost down to the individual SKU level.  Within the global network product emanating from a factory may be containerised and shipped direct or indeed shipped via one or more consolidation centres. The job of the solution is to provide seamless visibility of this entire process and therefore the data needed to calculate and apportion cost.

The level of visibility provided by the solution allows the user to predict stock availability by location at any point in the future. Inventory can then be 'smoothed' within the supply chain to ensure minumum levels are adhered to but also that excessive stocks are not retained tying up vital capital.
